CONCUSSIONS – FREE MEDICAL ADVICE

In many car accidents and slip and fall cases, injured victims suffered concussions from the impact of the fall or the car collision. How do you treat a concussion? The usual advice given by doctors  is to rest.  Rest is believed to be the best cure for a concussion.  Well, not anymore.

On the front page of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette recently, experts now believe that rest is not the best cure for a concussion.  A meeting of 37 concussion researchers and clinicians decided that prolonged rest does not help recovery but actually worsens it.

These 37 researchers and experts have concluded that concussions are treatable and active treatment is better for the victim than rest. Pittsburgh car accident and slip and fall attorney Bernie Tully cautions that this is not a unanimous consensus among experts. In fact, other experts have concluded that rest is the best tonic for a concussion.

So what is the best advice?  It might be just to follow the dictates of your own body. If you can get up and walk around after a few days of a slip and fall or  car collision, that might be the best cure of all. Let your body tell you what’s best for you.

Well that’s how I see it. What do you think?
