Q: Attorney Tully, I know it is a crime to take a weapon into a school. But how far does that extend? What about the school administration building? Is that covered by the prohibition?

A: Yes. The Pennsylvania Superior Court recently ruled on this very issue. In that case, a parent came into the school administration building wearing a sword. (Honestly) He argued the law didn’t apply because he didn’t actually go into a school classroom carrying the sword. He also argued the administration building was not part of the school because classes were not held there. Nice try, but no cigar. Bernie
