  • ATTENTION LONG TERM DENTURE WEARERS – POTENTIAL DENTURE ADHESIVE
  • (POLYGRIP® AND FIXODENT®) CASES

Recent scientific studies have found that long term use of denture adhesives containing zinc can cause neurological injuries. Between 1996 and 2010, zinc was used in the manufacture of Fixodent® and Poligrip®.

Physically what occurs is the zinc gets into your blood stream. It then goes after your body’s copper supply. If your body’s blood is tested, it can show a dangerous copper deficiency and/or a hazardous high zinc level. Either condition can lead to numbness and tingling of the legs and feet and difficulty in walking. If you are having any of these symptoms, please call our office at 800-518-0050 We can help you.

  • OLIVE PIT BLUES: YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE THIS NEXT ONE:

Every year around election time many politicians talk about putting a cap on lawsuits and the rights of injured persons to receive just compensation for their injuries. But, wait, what happens when a politician is injured in an accident? (WHY HE SUES FOR AS MUCH MONEY AS HE CAN, OF COURSE!)

Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio is suing a congressional cafeteria for dental damage he says he suffered after biting into an olive pit in a sandwich wrap be bought there. He is seeking $150,000 in damages from companies involved with the Longworth House Office Building cafeteria. The civil suit said the wrap “contained dangerous substances, namely an olive pit” that a consumer would not reasonably expect to find in the product. The suit said that Kucinich suffered “serious and permanent” dental and oral injuries requiring multiple surgical and dental procedures.

The suit seeks damages for “past and future medical and dental expenses, compensation for pain, suffering and loss of enjoyment and other damages”. Wait a second. Aren’t these items the very things he wants to limit your right to recover from? “May the olive pit be with you.”

  • FYI: NECK AND BACK INJURY ACCIDENT VICTIMS:

When you have neck pain or numbness down one of your arms, it is generally due to a herniated disc which is pressing on the nerve root. Just like in a lumbar spine (back) injury, the nerve roots escape the vertebrae on each side through something called the foramina, a narrow hole.

The good news is not all (or even most) disc herniations lead to surgery. Many herniations are asymptomatic, which means they don’t cause you any pain. Let your body be the guide and see your doctor if the symptoms persist. You should always feel free to call me to talk about it.

  • PARKED TRUCK OWNER LIABLE FOR WRONGFUL DEATH

A grocery chain could be partially liable for the wrongful death of a driver who rear- ended the company’s parked truck, the California Supreme Court has ruled in reinstating a jury verdict.

The driver of the tractor-trailer had parked on the freeway shoulder in order to eat his dinner.

The family sued the defendant for wrongful death, alleging that the company’s employee was negligent for parking the tractor-trailer in an area posted for emergency parking only. The Court agreed.

  • LAUGH OF THE DAY: BUT HOW DOES BUBBA FEEL ABOUT IT?

I represent Mike R. who needed leg surgery after a slip and fall injury. I asked him how his time in the hospital was. Mike said he would rather be in a cell with a guy named “Bubba” than spend another day in the hospital. Double Yoi!
