Cautionary note: If you have been in an auto accident case, advanced funding companies will try to contact you. These companies go to the court house, get your information, then contact you trying to loan you money. They will say that all you have to do is take the money whether it is $1,000, $3,000, or $5,000.
The amount they charge you in interest is sometimes 2 or 3 times that amount that was leant once the case is complete. So what we tell clients to do is at all costs avoid these advanced funding companies. Only if literally you cannot afford to keep your lights on in your home should you consider something with one of these companies.
That is our feel on it. We advise our clients on every single case NOT to take this money.
4 Items That You Should Be Aware Of When It Comes To Loans:
- Up Front Asking For Money:
- You should never be asked for money up front in any Lender, Broker or Loan Officer.
- No Address?:
- If the lender doesn’t have an address, we encourage you to flee from the situation as quickly as possible. There should always be a legitimate mailing address.
- Cash Advance Lenders:
- Make sure you completely understand the terms of an agreement before you sign on the dotted line. While it may be nice to not have to deal with lengthy paperwork, it will come back to hurt you in the end.
- Loans that are “Guaranteed”:
- No lender that is a professional will guarantee that you will be approved for a small business or personal loan. If this happens before you have applied, we encourage you to remove yourself from the situation as this is a SCAM.
