RULE 1311.1 AND ARBITRATION APPEALS

If you file your case in Arbitration, your case is heard before a panel of 3 randomly selected attorneys who determine how much money you should receive after reviewing your medical records and testimony. Each side has 30 days from the date of the hearing verdict to appeal the award and proceed to an actual jury trial. PA Rule 1311.1 allows the medical records presented during the arbitration hearing to be admitted into evidence for the jury trial, if you elect a limit on the maximum money ($25,000) you can be awarded by the jury. This rule is important because it helps limit huge costs, such as paying for your doctor to come in to testify at trial. The other benefit to the Rule is it also fast tracks your case, so you won’t have a long wait.

THE ORIGINS OF VALENTINE’S DAY

St. Valentine lived during the 5th century and was imprisoned in a Roman prison where he was tortured due to his faith. However, during his imprisonment, he fell in love with his jailer’s daughter and wrote her a letter signed “from your Valentine”. This expression is still used today. Happy Valentine’s Day!
