Q: I was involved in an auto accident. I suffered severe injuries to my back and neck. If we file a lawsuit, what information do I have to give the otherside?
A: This is a great question I am commonly asked by accident victims. Discovery is part of a lawsuit, and involves written questions that both sides can ask about issues in the case. For example, if you know a witness to the accident, the other side would ask for the person’s name and address. We can ask the same information from their side. Discovery is important because it helps to narrow the issues in a case. It also makes settlement of the case much more likely since both sides will know what the other side has in terms of evidence.
