Truck Accidents in Pennsylvania
Fatal truck accidents are among the most devastating types of crashes on Pennsylvania’s roads. Due to the sheer size and weight of commercial trucks, collisions involving these vehicles often result in catastrophic injuries or death, especially when smaller passenger cars are involved. Unfortunately, Pennsylvania sees a significant number of fatal truck crashes each year on major highways like I-80, I-76, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, as well as on rural roads where visibility and infrastructure can present additional challenges.
Several factors contribute to truck accidents. Driver fatigue is a major concern, particularly for long-haul truckers who may exceed federal hours-of-service regulations. Distracted driving, mechanical failures, overloaded trailers, and poor weather conditions can also increase the likelihood of a truck crash. In some cases, trucking companies may be held liable for failing to maintain their vehicles or adequately train their drivers.
When a truck accident occurs, crash victims and their families are left grappling with injuries, overwhelmed, and with legal uncertainty. In Pennsylvania, personal injury claims can be pursued to seek compensation for medical bills, pain and suffering, lost wages, and more. These claims often involve complex investigations and negotiations with insurance companies and trucking carriers.
