Q: Attorney Tully, I just passed the Pennsylvania Bar exam. I want to do trial work. Would I be better off doing criminal or civil cases to get into the courtroom quickly?
A: Criminal for sure. If you work for a civil law firm representing insurance companies the likelihood is it will be 3 to 5 years before you actually try a case. You will be doing legal research and taking depositions until your eyes cross. If you do criminal cases, you’ll be in the courtroom right after you are paid by your client. Remember, it is still a noble profession if you are ethical. Bernie
