WOOF WOOF – BIG LEGAL DOG NEWS:
Do you love your dog? Canines in Pennsylvania courtrooms: A Pa Court just ruled that comfort dogs are allowed in courtrooms, if they lessen the stress of their owner and are not disruptive to the case. How is that for a holiday treat, for all of you dog lovers. What is your dog’s name? I had 2 dogs named Taffy and Buffer!
WHAT IS NEW AT THE TULLY LAW FIRM:
Happy 18th anniversary to Denise, our ace paralegal, who started at our firm back in 2002. Pam just celebrated her 3rd anniversary with us. Michael is coming up on 2 years with the firm. I am blessed to have such a loyal staff including Angie our bookkeeper. We are like a family with Mary, Pam and Denise all helping to keep everything moving forward for Michael and me. We are so lucky to have all of them on our team! I hope Denise is able to keep working with us for another 18 years.
AFTER THE PANDEMIC ENDS WILL EMPLOYEES RETURN TO THE OFFICE?
With the pandemic related restrictions and social distancing, many offices downtown are deserted. Employees are working from home. A great benefit to this is that many employees now don’t have to spend time battling traffic in the morning or evening commute to and from downtown or elsewhere. How long does it take you to get to work from your home? 30 minutes each way is 1 hour of driving daily out of your life.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF FILING YOUR LAWSUIT IN ARBITRATION:
An important fact to consider when filing a lawsuit is whether to file it in Arbitration or not. You can file your lawsuit in Arbitration if you agree that the value of your case is below the statutory limit, which is different depending on the county you live in. A big advantage of filing your lawsuit in Arbitration is that your case will be heard quicker than if it was not. Also the discovery requests are limited, and the defense attorneys generally can’t take your deposition. An Arbitration case is often heard within a couple of months of the filing of the lawsuit, and if the award isn’t favorable, you can appeal it. This is an important decision for us to make together. Arbitration may be a better route to go if your injuries are soft tissue and do not involve surgery or permanent injuries.

Wow, are the Steelers on a roll this year! After the struggles the Steelers went through last year without Big Ben, this season seems like a redemption tour for the franchise! Keep it up and Go Steelers!
Who is ready for some Penguin Hockey and the Stanley Cup? Go Pitt and Duquesne basketball!
WAGE LOSS PROTECTION ON YOUR AUTO POLICY:
When selecting your car insurance coverage, in addition to underinsurance (UIM) protection (that helps if the person who caused your accident doesn’t have enough insurance to cover your injuries) you also can buy wage loss protection. Wage loss coverage is good for you. If you cannot return to work by your doctor’s advice, your insurance company will pay you for time off work. This will make up for the wages you are not making because you can’t work. You will have to pay a slightly higher premium on your auto policy, but the monthly wage loss check from your insurance company can really help you out.
