TYPES OF CASES WE HANDLE

PROSECUTION OF DUI OFFENDERS IS NOW BACK TO WHERE IT WAS BEFORE 2020: If one gets an ARD for a prior DUI offense, does the ARD acceptance count as a prior offense for future DUI’s? ARD, Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition, is for first time offenders and provided an individual completes the terms of probation, at the completion of the ARD sentence, the charges are withdrawn. But new legislation now counts the prior first time ARD as a prior offense for purposes of grading. Thus, in Pennsylvania if someone has 3 or more prior offenses, even if that includes an ARD disposition, you will still be charged with a Felony-2 offense, punishable by significant jail time for the DUI. The name of the case for all you legal eagles is Commonwealth v. Chichkin. What all this means in plain English is “DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE” because the penalties are now much more serious if you have prior DUI’s and are arrested.

LOCAL BASKETBALL: Pitt and Duquesne have really turned their programs around and we wish them nothing but the best! Go Panthers and Duquesne!

PENN STATE WRESTLING: One of the least known sports in general is college wrestling. At Penn State they had a phenomenal run in the NCAA championships. This year they appear to be poised for another championship. Go Penn State!

PITTSBURGH PENGUINS: What do you think of the Penguins so far this year? Go Sid!

PITTSBURGH PIRATES: Even among the most pessimistic fans, there is something special about the start of a new season. Sure, hope the Bucs can be competitive next spring.

STEELER FOOTBALL: What a strange season! Currently, we are doing well but boy the offense must get moving!
