Hanover Township, PA (August 24, 2025) – On August 24, two people were hospitalized after a crash that shut down Route 22 near Burgettstown for hours.
Authorities said that the crash at mile marker 1 on westbound Route 22 in Hanover Township was first reported at 6:13 p.m. Two vehicles were involved, including a tractor-trailer that overturned. Two people were taken to area hospitals, with one going by medical helicopter.
Route 22 was closed in both directions between Highway 18 to Florence/Burgettstown and the West Virginia line for nearly six hours following the crash. However, the investigation into the incident remains ongoing, and witnesses were asked to step forward.
